.CHLADNI PLATES.

 

The effects of sound waves can be visualized through the use of Chladni Plates as developed by the physicist Ernst Chladni, who had a strong interest in sound and music. A wave driver connects a sound source with a metal plate coated in sand or beads, and as the frequency of sound changes, the pattern in the sand changes. You can see this happening clearly in the experiment in the first linked video. The second is a computer generated model, from which the images below were captured for each frequency of the Ysha Savita 12 handpan, with the notes colored according to their corresponding chakras.
