"Living Sunlight"

C# Major, Extended Scale

This is a special handpan, custom made by Marshall Daniels (Daniels Made Handpans). Its scale is rooted in the center note, the ding - C#. Its frequency is 138 hertz, which is also the frequency of the measure of the rotation time of the earth around the sun. It is a bright, uplifting scale that brings lightness and joy but also a sense of stability and grounding because of its frequencies. This handpan has eleven notes of the C# major scale over three octaves. While not for use in most handpan sound bath sessions, it also has nine notes in the C# minor scale. These notes can tune in to feelings of sorrow and grief and can be incorporated if it's decided this would be beneficial.

 

The purpose of the handpan in the sound bath is to bring you on a journey. It begins with quiet ambient pad, and the addition of the handpan notes brings tones that are grounding, calming and recentering. After this part fades out, the gentle sounds of water and wind begin. Soothing and joyful handpan melodies start slowly then rise up and invigorate before settling back down to release you into a calm and renewed sense of ease.
